Jenny and I brought our wheels to the Big E today and set up in the New England center for a few hours to demonstrate spinning. She very kindly took some video of me spinning on Brigid.
That bit in the middle is, "this is totally going on my blog. Hello, blog readers!" See? I think of you guys. ;)

I don't get it. Why's it called a walking wheel if you move the wheel with your hand? And are those bits tied on to the spokes just decoration, or what?
It's called a walking wheel because you take a few steps back and forth while drafting and winding on. The ribbons on her spokes are for decoration.
[Ron Popeil]But wait, that's not all! It's not just a yarn-making device... it's also a cardio machine![/Ron Popeil]
Very cool... I've always wondered how a "walking wheel" works. Great demo!
Wow. That is facinating! Someday I want to learn to spin, but I think I'd prefer spinning in the seated position. Wouldn't want to slim down my big butt. It's taken me the last 10 years on the couch to create! Very cool, Lilith!
